Katherine Kelly stars in "Mr. Selfridge" on PBS as Lady Mae.

British actress Katherine Kelly has acting in her genes — her Irish-born father, John Kelly, established the Lamproom Theatre in Barnsley, South Yorkshire in 1998. If not performing in a production like "Annie" or "Calamity Jane" as a child, she and her siblings would hold court backstage. While Kelly was wildly popular as bad-girl Becky McDonald in the British soap "Coronation Street," she is a classically trained graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and her theatrical credits include a stint as a leading lady for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Since leaving her long-running "Coronation Street" role, for which she won a National Television Award in 2012, she has returned to her roots on the stage to acclaim in Oliver Goldsmith's 1773 comedy, "She Stoops to Conquer."
