challenge. With over ten years experience in the entertainment industry Alani has set her sights on Hollywood.

In the early 2000s there was no way of turning on the TV and not seeing La La. Whether she was hosting MTV's popular video countdown show Direct Effect or TRL, grilling Hollywood superstars such as Will Smith, Tom Cruise or rubbing elbows with music royalty—Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs—La La held her own. With a girl next door appeal, the veteran of radio (Atlanta's Hot 97 and LA's 100.3 The Beat) mastered the art of hosting and spot interviews. Her skills didn't stop there. La La worked her way into Hollywood, earning small roles in several motion pictures.

Seeking a new direction, La La, host and VJ, is reintroducing herself as Alani Anthony mother, television and film producer, and aspiring actress. Witnessing the career transformations of friends and colleagues, rapper/actor Ludacris, Alani's co-host on Hot 97's Future Flavas hip-hop radio show and singer-turn-blockbuster actor Tyrese who encouraged her to audition for MTV while on the radio in LA, Alani has been crafting her career carefully since leaving MTV in 2006. Determined to not go down in the history books as "just a talking head," Alani is adding to her repertoire becoming a respected player behind the scenes.

In 2008, La La launched Krossover Productions. The venture teams her alongside Carmelo Anthony, actor Kevin Phillips and established film producer Dave Haines. Hitting the ground running, Krossover is one of the executive producers of the critically acclaimed TYSON, an independent documentary on former heavy weight champion Mike Tyson. Directed by Academy and Golden Globe nominated writer/director James Toback, TYSON was named the winner of the Regard Knockout Award in France and debuted to a standing ovation in last year's Cannes Film Festival.

On the small screen, Alani is carving out a niche in the booming reality TV industry. It is a market that she knows a lot about thanks to her stints as the host of such memorable reality show specials as "Flavor of Love Reunion," "Charm School Reunion" and her latest as co-host of "Charm School 3: Charm School Gives Back with Ricki Lake." Thanks in part to her lasting relationships with MTV, VH1 and the reality show production powerhouse 51 Minds ("Flavor of Love," "Rock of Love," "Charm School") Alani is still an in demand on-air talent. Since stepping away to start a family, she has reemerged periodically to host projects that fit into her schedule as a mother and business owner.

In addition to hosting some of today's most popular reality shows, Alani is producing her own show, a deal that was inked prior to Krossover's creation. Her working relationship with 51 Minds has lead to the two joining forces to produce "The 6th Man," a competition that takes talented basketball players who, for one reason or another, didn't make it to the pros and tests them on their ability to deal with the pressure of fame, drama, money and the business of being a professional athlete. Alani serves as the show's executive producer. Another buzzing reality project Krossover is putting the finishing touches is "Love and Basketball," a spin on "The Bachelor" series but with a single NBA player looking for Ms. Right.

It goes without saying that Alani's relationship with NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony has impacted her life. The two have a two-year-old son together, Kiyan, and their five year relationship has opened her life to a completely different world. Hailing from Atlanta by way of New York, Alani now calls Los Angeles and Denver home.

A proud Latina, Alani Vazquez was born in New York. La La would be the nickname given to her as a child, a name that would remain with her to today. While in high school, her family would relocate to Atlanta. During a trip to a clothing store to see her favorite rapper, Method Man, La La was introduced to the world of radio. At the store she noticed radio interns assigned to cover the event. Boldly she asked them how they go their jobs, lied about her age (the minimum age requirement was 17) applied to the local station quickly moved up the ladder from intern to radio show host.

Once Future Flavas ended, La La enrolled at Howard University for a degree in Communications but soon realized that what she was going to school for, she already knew first hand. With a leap of faith, she applied to stations across the country and landed a job at LA's 100.3 the Beat. From there MTV came calling and the rest is ...

La La symbolizes the emergence of a woman who is taking the reigns. In the world of media and entertainment it's not enough to be a pretty face with a microphone. One needs to be an entrepreneur, advocate and multi-talented. On the business side, Alani is the woman you will encounter at a Hollywood meeting, on the set of one of her many TV projects or find backing indie films that need some support.

She acknowledges that with her celebrity she can bring attention to other issues. Alani has long been a supporter of charities such as H.O.L.A. and LIFEbeat and will announce plans for her own charity in the coming months. She also knows the power of her voice, penning La La's Land an online blog for Latina magazine.

Always up for a challenge, Alani has set forth on a path that will undoubtedly lead to more success. Mother, host, producer, actress. There aren't enough adjectives to describe the woman that is La La Anthony.
