Laura Shields is one of the models on NBC's "Deal or No Deal."
Laura Shields was born and raised in Manchester, UK and grew up in a place called Alkrington where her life revolved around school and looking after her horse, "Lucky." Modeling never crossed her mind until Laura Shields was "spotted" one day while out shopping with friends. This chance encounter led to Laura Shields becoming the "face of Manchester" and signing with the world renowned model agency Elite - all before her 15th birthday! It was around this time that Laura Shields took a supervised test to join Mensa. Laura Shields's qualifying IQ of 158 put her in the top 1% of the country and she's been a member ever since, even appearing on a cover of Mensa Magazine - who says you can't be beautiful and brainy?
Laura Shields modeled during school holidays, which led to a successful fashion career for two years, but at age 16 she decided to quit to concentrate on her GCSEs (the British equivalent of the SAT test). Laura Shields's scores got her into Leeds University where she earned an honors degree in Chemical Engineering. Laura Shields loves science, especially anything to do with the universe, and when not waiting around at modeling shoots she's usually engrossed in a good book such as the "Universe In A Nutshell" by Stephen Hawking.
At university, Laura Shields returned to modeling and got into beauty pageants. During one memorable summer vacation, Laura Shields spent two months in China and Japan for Miss International as Miss UK and represented the UK again at Miss Europe where she placed 3rd. Laura Shields was voted the "Sexiest Woman Alive" in 2004 and then became Miss Hawaiian Tropic UK 2005. After college, Laura Shields returned to fashion modeling and decided to cross over into more bikini type modeling too.
Since university, Laura Shields has been modeling internationally full time and working in many different countries. Laura Shields now lives between Los Angeles and England and is having a fantastic time! Laura Shields loves doing sexy shoots for magazines such as FHM and wants to continue modeling for as long as she can. But more than anything, Laura Shields feels really lucky to have an amazing set of family and friends who love and support her in all the choices she makes and would like to say "a HUGE thanks to you guys!"
