Lauren Crace stars in "Mr. Selfridge" on PBS as Doris Millar.

Lauren Crace is best known to British audiences as the ill-fated Danielle in the BBC soap "EastEnders," a role for which she won TV Quick's 2009 Best Newcomer award. The episode airing Danielle's tragic death was so popular that it caused a surge to the power grid and spurred an unprecedented campaign directed at the BBC to bring Danielle back to life. But this daughter of best-selling British novelist Jim Crace is also a classically trained graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where her credits ranged from "Othello" to "Vinegar Tom." She performed in the Salisbury Playhouse production of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" and in the PBS Masterpiece Mystery! "Sherlock: The Great Game." On UK television, she has also made guest appearances in "Shameless," "Holby City" and "Silk."

Crace lives in London with her actor boyfriend and their infant son, Jack.
