Lee Ingleby stars in "White Heat" on BBC America as Alan. As a kid growing up in Newcastle, Alan was always curious about how things worked. Later, he got into electronics and from there got a foothold in the burgeoning field of computers.

British actor Lee Ingleby has appeared in such popular BBC series as "Inspector George Gently," "The Street," "Hustle" and "Life on Mars," and alongside Matt Lucas in the 2006 adaptation of "The Wind in the Willows." Other television credits include ITV's "The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby"; the BBC productions of "Luther," "Nature Boy," "Dalziel and Pascoe," "The Dark Room" and "In the Red"; and "Impact," "Spaced," "Junk," "A Wing & a Prayer," "A Small Addition" and "Soldier Soldier."

On the big screen, Ingleby has been seen in such Hollywood movies as Andy Tennant's "Ever After," starring Drew Barrymore, Peter Sheridan's "Borstal Boy," "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World," starring Russell Crowe, and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," as Stan Shunpike.

Ingleby's theater credits include "A Midsummer Night's Dream," as Puck; the West End production of "Cressida" and "About the Boy," for the Royal Court.
