Lenny Clarke stars in "Are You There Vodka?? It's Me, Chelsea" on NBC. Based on the life of Chelsea Handler, the comedy series revolves around a group of twentysomethings living and working together, headed by a very outspoken young woman.

A longtime stand-up comedian, Lenny Clarke got his start performing for local high school functions in the Boston area. He decided to pursue stand-up comedy one night when he was working as a janitor, putting himself through college at University of Massachusetts

in Boston. That night, he went to the Ding-Ho Restaurant in Cambridge and saw some comics performing. Convinced he could do the same thing, he returned the next week and, "The rest, as they say, is history!" he exclaims.

Clarke spent several years as the host of the open-mike nights there and has traveled the world as a stand-up comic. His comedic abilities captured the attention of Rodney Dangerfield, who gave him his first big break, casting him in "Nothin' Goes Right." He and Dangerfield also worked together years later on "Meet Wally Sparks."

CBS discovered Clarke at The Montreal Comedy Festival and gave him his own eponymous show, "Lenny," which ran for one season from 1990 to 1991. Since then, he has continued to pursue an acting career.

As an actor, Clarke has appeared in several films, including "Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events," starring Jim Carrey, "Fever Pitch," starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon, "Sides," "Stuck on You," with Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear, "Just Another Story," "Me, Myself, and Irene," starring Jim Carrey and Renée Zellweger, and "There's Something About Mary," starring Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz.

In addition to "Lenny" and his popular role on "Rescue Me," Lenny Clarke has had series regular roles on "The Winner," "It's All Relative," "The Job" and "The John Larroquette Show." He has also made guest appearances on "Brothers," "Til' Death," "7th Heaven," and "Touched by an Angel."
