Lizzy Caplan stars in "Masters of Sex" on Showtime as Virginia Johnson.

Lizzy Caplan recently was seen in the movie "127 Hours," starring James Franco, and gave a standout performance in JJ Abrams's feature film "Cloverfield" and starred as Kat Warbler on CBS's "The Class." For the latter role, she received critical acclaimed and was named one of the "10 Actors to Watch" by Daily Variety, "So Five Minutes from Now" by Entertainment Weekly and the "Fresh Face of the Fall" by "The Insider."

television, Caplan recently played the recurring roles of Julia in FOX's "New Girl" and Amy Burley in HBO's "True Blood." Prior to that, she starred in the Starz comedy "Party Down" as Casey Klein. Her other TV credits include "Childrens Hospital," "Mr. Sunshine," "Related," "Tru Calling," "Smallville," "Once and Again," "Freaks and Geeks" and "Undeclared." Lizzy Caplan also starred in the MTV movie "Everybody's Doing It" and has done voice work for the animated series "Family Guy" and "American Dad."

Best known to audiences for her role in the feature film "Mean Girls," Caplan's additional credits include roles in "Orange County" and "Hardcore Action News." She also starred in the Lionsgate feature film "My Best Friend's Girl," opposite Kate Hudson, Alec Baldwin and Dane Cook; "The Last Rites of Ransom Pride," opposite Jon Foster, Scott Speedman and Dwight Yoakum; "Crossing Over," opposite Harrison Ford, Sean Penn and Ray Liotta; the independent film "Love is the Drug," which premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival; and the indie film "Crashing," opposite Campbell Scott. Caplan also starred in Jason Mraz's music video "You and I Both."

Caplan graduated in 2000 from the prestigious Academy of Music program at Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, where she was born and raised and currently resides.
