Louis van Amstel from "Dancing with the Stars" is one of the professional dancers featured on the ABC reality ballroom dance competition. For Season 15, he is partnered with singer and actress Sabrina Bryan.

In Season 1, Louis was the first to be eliminated with his partner, Trista Sutter. In Season 2, he was partnered with actress Lisa Rinna, coming in 4th place. In Season 3, he danced with actress Monique Coleman, once again coming in 4th place. In Season 6, he was partnered with Priscilla Presley. He returned to the competition in Season 9 with partner Kelly Osbourne and came in 3rd place. For Season 10, he was paired with Niecy Nash and came in 5th place. The following season, he and comedienne Margaret Cho didn't fare as well and were eliminated in the third week. In Season 12, he was partnered with reality star Kendra Wilkinson and came in 6th place.

Louis van Amstel began his dance career at an early age, training in a theater school and gaining a solid background in ballet, tap, and jazz. Upon graduating, Louis attended the University of the Arts in Amsterdam to further strengthen his skills in the classical dances and theory.

Upon immigrating to the United States, Louis quickly became the U.S. National Latin Champion in 2000 and founded the company VanDance, LLC. Through VanDance Louis directed, choreographed and performed in "Latin Fusion," a feature production on Broadway.

Louis has a strong psychological approach to teaching. He trains under legendary dance guru Dr. Ruud Vermeij, who has a holistic approach towards dancing. Louis is also a student of Laban choreology and is well-versed in human movement dynamics.

Additionally, van Amstel has appeared on "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," "All My Children" and "So You Think You Can Dance."

He also coaches fellow DWTS pro Dmitry Chaplin.
