Margo Martindale stars in "The Americans" on FX as Claudia, a KGB illegal living in the U.S. who delivers assignments to KGB Directorate S illegals Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, Russian spies posing as Americans. Martindale previously starred in CBS's drama "A Gifted Man" as Rita Perkins-Hall.

of the show's second season, Mags is the quietly ruthless matriarch of a Kentucky crime family. On the big screen, Martindale stars in the comic drama "Win Win," opposite Paul Giamatti, as Eleanor.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Texas, Margo Martindale is an acclaimed character actress, having appeared in more than 60 motion pictures in addition to many memorable television roles. She began her career on the New York stage, creating the iconic role of Truvy in the original production of "Steel Magnolias," and earned a Tony Award nomination for her role in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."

Martindale's extensive television work includes regular and recurring roles on the award-winning series "The Riches," "Hung," "Dexter," "Medium" and "100 Centre Street." She recently played Miley Cyrus's grandmother, Ruby, in Walt Disney Pictures' "Hannah Montana: The Movie." Her dozens of films credits also include "Twilight," "The Human Stain," "Proof of Life," "The Winning Season," "Million Dollar Baby," Alexander Payne's 14th arrondissement segment of "Paris Je T'Aime," "The Savages," "Nobody's Fool," "Lorenzo's Oil," "The Hours," "Dead Man Walking," "Practical Magic," "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," "Secretariat," "Ghosts of Mississippi," "Marvin's Room," "Orphan" and "Management."

A native of Texas, Margo now lives in New York City with her husband.
