Maria Grazia Cucinotta is an Italian actress, model, and producer. She has found success in both Italian and American cinema and television. She is best known for her starring role in "Il Postino," directed by Michael Radford. The critically acclaimed film received nominations for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won the Academy Award for Best Music (Original Dramatic Score). It also received the BAFTA award for Best Film Not in the English Language, and the BAFTA award for Best Film Music. She is also known for her role as a Bond Girl in "The World is Not Enough," opposite Pierce Brosnan and Denise Richards.

She has also found success on American television, voicing the character of Francesca on "The Simpsons" and guest-starring in an episode of "The Sopranos." She portrayed the titular role in "Isabella," the penultimate episode of the show's acclaimed first season.

In 2010, she was honored with The America Award of the Italy-USA Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Rome, Italy. The America Award is given annually to an Italian citizen who has worked to improve relations between America and Italy.
