Marisa Petroro is one of the models on NBC's game show, "Deal or No Deal."
Marisa Petroro's parents immigrated from Italy to Argentina where they met, married, and had a son, later moving to New Jersey with about $1,000 in hand. Marisa was born in the Garden State and grew up in the town of Elizabeth speaking only Italian (Abbruzzese dialect) to her father. Growing up, Marisa Petroro was addicted to pageants, starting at the age of five when she won the title of Miss Pee Wee New Jersey. Marisa Petroro then went on to win many others (about 100) such as Miss Junior New Jersey and Miss Italia USA where she placed in the top five for the Miss Italia Del Mundo title (Miss World Italy). And if that's not enough, Marisa Petroro's first commercial was directed by the infamous David Lynch. It was a black-and-white commercial for the Clear Blue Easy pregnancy test, which received a lot of press back in 1997.
Marisa Petroro is also a survivor of a rare childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. Each year 350 children will be diagnosed and two-thirds will survive with proper treatment. Marisa Petroro is currently in the beginning stages of a documentary to help raise awareness and funding to find a cure. Marisa Petroro also produced her own children's pageant called Miss New Jersey State while she was going through chemotherapy to keep her mind focused on something other than her illness.
Besides being able to rap a mean "Paul Revere" by The Beastie Boys, Marisa Petroro will be guest starring on Comedy Central's "Reno 911!" as Heidi, The Hotty's Hot Wing Waitress. In January 2007, Marisa Petroro will be playing opposite Paul Rudd as his Druglord Girlfriend in the much anticipated feature film, "Reno 911!: Miami." Other upcoming films for Marisa Petroro include "Unrest" with Joshua Alba and "Everybody Wants To Be Italian" with Penny Marshall.
