Matt LeBlanc stars in "Episodes" on Showtime as a satirical send-up of himself as the egotistical star that TV executives cater to. Never mind that he's not even remotely right for the part of the wise, articulate headmaster of an elite boarding school—the network dumbs it down to hockey coach to better suit him.

Matt LeBlanc is best known for his role as Joey on the iconic NBC series "Friends." The show aired for a decade and garnered LeBlanc accolades, including three consecutive Emmy nominations

for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series from 2002-2004; two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor in a series from 2003-2004; a 1996 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble, and nominations for Outstanding Ensemble six consecutive years in a row, from 1999-2004; a nomination by the Television Critics Association for Individual Achievement in Comedy in 2002; four consecutive nominations as Choice Actor for the Teen Choice Awards from 2002-2005, with a win in 2002; and a nomination for the Kids' Choice Awards for Favorite Actor in 2002. In 2005, he also garnered a Golden Globe nomination for best actor, as well as a People's Choice Award for Favorite Male Television star.

Matt LeBlanc was born in Newton, Massachusetts. After graduating from Newton North High School in 1985, Matt LeBlanc decided to move to New York City. There he got into acting and by 1987, Matt LeBlanc had acquired parts in national television commercials for products such as Levi's 501 Jeans, Coca-Cola, and Doritos. Matt LeBlanc also appeared in a Heinz catsup spot that won the prominent Gold Lion Award at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival.

Matt LeBlanc's formal training as an actor began in 1988. Within only a year, Matt LeBlanc had a starring role in the TV series "TV 101." That prompted Matt LeBlanc to move to Los Angeles where he made his feature-film debut in "Lookin' Italian." As luck would have it, that same year Matt LeBlanc landed a role on "Friends," as Joey Tribiani.

In 1998, Matt LeBlanc appeared opposite Gary Oldman as Major Don West in "Lost in Space," a retelling of the Robinson family's quest to find their way back to Earth after a mission in space goes awry. Prior to "Lost in Space," Matt LeBlanc starred in the 1996 baseball comedy "Ed" and in 1993's "The Killing Box," opposite Martin Sheen and Corbin Bernsen.

Matt LeBlanc also appeared in the 2000 blockbuster motion picture "Charlie's Angels," an update of the 1970's television series of the same name. Matt LeBlanc appeared opposite Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu as Jason Gibbons, a struggling actor and boyfriend to Liu's character, Alex. Matt LeBlanc later reprised his role in the sequel "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle."

Matt LeBlanc starred in the comedy film "All the Queen's Men" as O'Rourke, the American leader of a British Special Services team charged with infiltrating the all-female Enigma factory in Berlin and retrieving an infamous coding device.

Matt LeBlanc's producing credits include the 2006 Warner Bros. pilot, "The Prince," and the New Line Cinema feature "The Watch."
