Megan Follows stars in "Reign" on The CW as Catherine de' Medici.

Megan Follows comes from a Canadian showbiz family. Her father, mother and one of her sisters are all actors, another sister is a producer and writer, and her brother is also a producer. Follows appeared in her first commercial when she was nine. She nabbed her first big role on the TV series" Matt and Jenny" by age 11. At 17 years old, she became known to television audiences around the world when she appeared in the title role in the beloved miniseries "Anne of Green Gables" (1985), which was one of the highest-rated Canadian television dramas of all time and her Megan a Gemini Award when she was just 18 years old. Two years later she appeared in the sequel.

Since them, Follows has had roles in numerous hit TV shows — everything from "Law & Order" and "House" to "Heartland." Other recent guest appearances include "Hollywood Heights," "Longmire," "Raising the Bar," "Brothers & Sisters," "Lie to Me," "Cold Case," "CSI: Miami," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "ER." She was also seen in the miniseries "World Without End."

Lately, Follows has been commanding the stage. She starred as Juliet in the Stratford Festival's production of "Romeo & Juliet." She earned raves and Dora Award nominations for her roles as Marlene in Caryl Churchill's "Top Girls" and Masha in Anton Chekhov's "Three Sisters." She also played the lead in Nightwood Theatre's production of "The Penelopiad" in Toronto. The play, by Margaret Atwood, is a retelling of the story of the Odyssey from the point of view of the hero's long-suffering wife.
