Michael Hitchcock stars in Showtime's Emmy and Golden Globe-winning "United States of Tara," as Ted Mayo. He also appears in the movie "Bridesmaids," starring Kristen Wiig, Rose Byrne and John Hamm, as Don.

Michael Hitchock was born in Defiance, Ohio, and raised in Western Springs, Illinois. He graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science and then from the University of California, Los Angeles, with an MFA. After his graduated studies he went on to become a member of The Groundlings.

Hitchcock recently had a recurring role in TNT's "Men of a Certain Age," starring Ray Romano, Scott Bakula and Andre Braugher, as Dave. His other credits include "Glee," "Entourage," "Desperate Housewives," "The League," "Party Down," "Pushing Daisies," and "Arrested Development."

In film, Hitchcock has had roles in all four of Christopher Guest's award-winning films: "Best in Show," "For Your Consideration," "A Mighty Wind," and "Waiting for Guffman." "Best in Show" won Funniest Motion Picture at the American and the British Comedy Awards in addition to earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Comedy. "A Mighty Wind" garnered Hitchcock and his fellow actors several Best Ensemble Cast/Acting awards. The film also took home a Grammy and an Oscar for its music. Hitchcock's other film credits include "Serenity," "Wild Hogs," "Operation Endgame," "Smiley Face," "Pretty Persuasion," "Happy, Texas," and "Heartbreakers."

As a writer, Hitchcock has under his belt the drama "Where the Day Takes You," which gave Will Smith his film debut, in addition to MGM's "House Arrest" and Disney's "The Ultimate Christmas Present." Hitchcock also wrote for the latenight comedy sketch show "MAD TV," which was nominated three times for Outstanding Writing of a Comedy/Variety Series by the WGA while Hitchcock was there.
