An internationally acclaimed actress and producer, Michelle Yeoh has starred in over twenty films, including international hits "Crouching, Tiger, Hidden Dragon," "Memoirs of a Geisha," "Sunshine," "Babylon A.D.," "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," and James Bond's "Tomorrow Never Dies." In her films, she has always strived to challenge the traditional views of Asian women, portraying strong, commanding female characters.

graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor in Creative Arts. The same year, she was crowned Miss Malaysia. Her pageant career soon transitioned into acting, and she became one of Hong Kong's most popular Kung Fu queens, known for performing her own stunts since her very first film, "Yes Madam."

It was Yeoh's performance in the period epic "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" that made her a known actress in America and brought her worldwide acclaim. The film earned her three nominations for best actress at the Taipei Golden Horse Awards, The Hong Kong Film Awards, and the BAFTA Awards in 2001. She was also named CineAsia's Award of Excellence n Acting for Outstanding Performance As an Actor, and the International Star of the Year at the 2001 ShoWest exhibitors' convention. The very same year, she conferred the honored title of "Dato" by the Malaysian state government.

In 2002, Michelle added another feater to cap, producing and starring in "The Touch," a contemporary romantic action-adventure. She was named Producer of the Year by CineAsia and awarded The Outstanding Young Persons of the World by Junior Chamber International.

In 2004, she starred in "Memoirs of a Geisha," based on the acclaimed novel and directed by Rob Marshall. The following year, she starred in the sci-fi thriller "Sunshine," directed by Danny Boyle.
