New York's theater world, where she trained with such esteemed director/writers as James Lapine ("Twelve Dreams" at Lincoln Center with Donna Murphy), Tony Kushner ("Slavs!" at New York Theater Workshop with Marissa Tomei), and Naomi Wallace ("One Flea Spare" at the Public Theatre with Dianne Weist). Among her other varied stage credits are "Where the Truth Lies" and "One Flea Spare," both of which were presented at the New York Shakespeare Festival.

Mischa Barton made her feature film debut in 1998 with the critically lauded Sundance favorite "Lawn Dogs," opposite Sam Rockwell. Barton followed this with "Pups," a modern-day version of "Bonnie and Clyde," for filmmaker Ash ("Bang"). Barton then added key roles in the 1999 blockbusters "The Sixth Sense," with Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment, and "Notting Hill," with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.

Barton subsequently completed work on "Lost and Delirious," opposite Piper Perabo, and "Julie Johnson," with Courtney Love and Lili Taylor, both of which premiered at Sundance. She also won Cosmopolitan's Fun Fearless Female Award for "Knockout Ingenue" and Glamour's "Women of the Year Award." Barton has been ranked, for the last three years, as one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People."

Even at such an early age, Barton has also made a major impression in the fashion and beauty world. She has already graced the covers of countless international magazines and has become the face of numerous advertising campaigns.
