Oliver Award-winning actor Nathaniel Parker is a highly respected and prolific performer who has appeared in numerous productions on stage and screen.

Parker returned to Broadway after 25 years in spring 2015, starring as Henry VIII in the highly acclaimed "Wolf Hall Parts One & Two," which encompasses the two plays "Wolf Hall" and "Bring Up the Bodies." For this performance, he was nominated for a 2015 Tony Award for

Best Featured Actor in a Play. Parker originated the role in the Royal Shakespeare Company production during a sold-out run at Stratford-upon-Avon before transferring to London where he earned critical raves and won the 2015 Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Play. He was also nominated for a What's on Stage Award in the same category.

Parker last appeared on Broadway in 1989, starring opposite Dustin Hoffman in the Peter Hall production of "The Merchant of Venice."

Parker is perhaps best known for portraying Detective Inspector Tommy Lynley over six seasons of the BBC crime drama series "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries." Other television credits include "The Outcast" for the BBC, "Piece of Cake," "A Village Affair," "Far from the Madding Crowd," a BBC version of "Vanity Fair," "Bleak House," "Nuremberg: Nazis on Trial," "Me and Mrs. Jones" and "Merlin." He recently earned a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series for his starring role in the CBC's "Still Life: A Three Pines Mystery."

Film roles include "War Requiem," with Sir Laurence Olivier in his final role; "Hamlet," co-starring Mel Gibson and Helena Bonham Carter; "Othello," with Laurence Fishburne and Kenneth Branagh and directed by Parker's brother, Oliver; "Wide Sargasso Sea"; "Beverly Hills Ninja"; Disney's "The Haunted Mansion"; "Flawless," with Demi Moore and Sir Michael Caine; "Stardust"; "The Perfect Host," co-starring alongside David Hyde Pierce; and "The Bodyguard," with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.

On stage, Parker has appeared in the West End production of "The Audience," opposite Dame Helen Mirren and directed by Stephen Daldry. Also in the West End, Parker appeared in the revival of David Mamet's "Speed-the-Plow." Other theater credits include the title role in the National Youth Theatre's production of "Macbeth" and Tybalt in "Romeo and Juliet," at The Young Vic., with the Royal Shakespeare Company, which he joined in 1986. Parker has performed in "The Kiss," "The Winter's Tale," "Every Man in His Humour," "The Rover," "Richard II," "The Storm" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Parker also has lent his voice to numerous audio books, from classic works by Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy and John Wyndham, to more contemporary series such as Eoin Colfer's award-winning "Artemis Fowl" books and the series of "Young James Bond" books.

An avid horse-racing fan, Parker is a champion for Racing Welfare, an organization that provides help and support to anyone in the thoroughbred and breeding industry. Other charities Parker supports include Debbie's Fund, which works to find a cure for cervical cancer, and the Royal Marsden Hospital, a world-leading cancer center specializing in diagnosis, treatment, research and education.

Parker trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and currently resides in Gloucestershire.
