Neal Brennan is the host of SundanceTV's pop culture talk show "The Approval Matrix."

Neal Brennan is a director, writer, actor and comedian who is best known as the creative force and executive producer behind "Chappelle's Show," which he developed with Dave Chappelle. In addition to writing and developing multiple comedic sketches, shows and films, Brennan is a well-known personality on the standup comedy circuit.

After graduating from the prestigious NYU Film School, he began his writing career at the age of 20 on the MTV dating game show, "Singled Out," and the Nickelodeon sketch show, "All That." Three years later, he and his writing partner Dave Chappelle wrote the stoner cult classic, "Half Baked."

Between 1998 and 2002, Brennan wrote and sold three screenplays with Michael Schur, who went on to co-create "Parks and Recreation" on NBC.

Chappelle and Brennan then linked back up and created "Chappelle's Show." They wrote and produced virtually every sketch themselves. In the second season, Brennan was allowed to officially direct, and helmed such sketches as "Charlie Murphy/Rick James," "The Racial Draft," "Charlie Murphy/Prince" and the "John Mayer Sketch." Brennan received three Emmy nominations for "Chappelle's Show": one for directing "Rick James," the other two for writing and producing.

In 2008 Brennan sold a screenplay called, "Split Decision" to The Montecito Picture Company. He also directed the Paramount Pictures feature film, "The Goods," for producers Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. The film starred Jeremy Piven, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Ving Rhames and Ferrell.

In 2010 Brennan appeared in "Get Him to the Greek" and starred in the Showtime pilot for "Seek and Destroy," which he also co-wrote and directed. His highly-rated Comedy Central special "Women and Black Dudes" aired in January 2014.

Brennan performs stand-up comedy at the top clubs in New York and Los Angeles. He has appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "Lopez Tonight" and "Conan."
