"Next Great Baker" Season 3 on TLC is a reality competition elimination series. The series features Buddy Valastro from "Cake Boss" searching for the next rising talent in the baking world.
Anyone who's watched an episode of TLC's series "Cake Boss" has dreamt of working alongside the Valastro family as they create the most mouthwatering treats on television. And now, there's a new "help wanted" sign hanging in the window of family's bakery.
In the series, Buddy, along with various family members, put 13 aspiring cake artists through the ringer to earn the title of "Next Great Baker." Each week, Buddy pushes the contestants' baking and decorating skills to the limit through a series of increasingly difficult challenges that test their business sense and cake artistry. Someone will be sent packing each week until the "Next Great Baker" is the last one standing.
The 13 crafty cake artists are each after the sweet prize of $100,000, a feature in Redbook Magazine, and a chance to work side-by-side with Buddy and his team at Carlo's Bakery.
In Season 3, Buddy and his family welcome special guests to judges the challenges, including Mario Lopez & Courtney Mazza, Lou Ferrigno, Peter Billingsley ("A Christmas Story"), Holly Madison and Joey Fatone, among others.
The Season 3 contestants include Ashley Lauren Holt, Chad Durkin, Chris Luna, Emme Tyler, Garrett Wallace, Gretel-Ann Fischer, James S. Brown, Jen Kwapinski, Jess Reyling, Letty Alvarez, Melissa Payne, Paul Christopher Conti and Peter Gray.
The second season crowned Marissa Lopez as the winner. She won the sweet prize of $100,000 cash, a four-page feature in Brides Magazine, and a chance to work side-by-side with Buddy at Carlo's Bakery. She competed against Megan Hart, Heather Macia, Marissa Lopez, Carmelo Oquendo, Ryan Cimorelli, Heather Grubb, Jasmine Frank, Nadine Reibeling, Tony Frys, Minerva Vazquez, Chad Fitzgerald, Sara Williams and Wesley Durden.
Dana Hebert was the winner of the first season. She competed against Brian Stevens, Corina Elgart, Greggy Soriano, Jay Qualls, Joe Glaser, Johanna Lyons, Kendra Jordan, Megan Rountree and Pamela Ahn.
