In addition, Teale is a member of The Royal Shakespeare Company and has performed on stage throughout his career. He was nominated for a 1997 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House" in London. When the same production transferred to Broadway, Teale won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. More recently, Teale starred in an acclaimed production of Strindberg's "Creditors" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
