Paul Bishop from "Take the Money & Run" is an interrogator on the ABC reality series.

The Los Angeles Times has called Paul Bishop "the closest equivalent of Joe Wambaugh yet," and stated Hot Pursuit "could hardly be better." The New York Times proclaimed him a "first-class writer," and called "Deep Water" a "lively, bloody adventure." Publishers' Weekly cited "Croaker: Kill Me Again" as "gripping, intense, labyrinthine, complex and compelling." And author Dominick Dunne declared "Croaker: Grave

Sins" to be a "tough, taut, terrific tale!"

A 35-year veteran of a major west coast metropolitan police department, Bishop's career has included a three-year tour as an interrogator with the department's Anti-Terrorist Division and over 25 years of experience in the investigation of sex crimes. For the past eight years, his various Special Assaults Units have consistently produced the highest number of detective-initiated arrests and highest crime clearance rate in the city. Twice honored as Detective of the Year for his skills as an interrogator, Bishop has also received the Quality and Productivity Commission Award from the City of Los Angeles.

As a nationally recognized interrogator, Bishop co-stars with his professional partner, best-selling author and prosecutor Mary Hanlon Stone, as the regular interrogators and driving force behind the new hit ABC reality show, "Take the Money & Run," from producers Bertram Van Munster and Jerry Bruckheimer. Bishop and Stone will also be sharing their experience and expertise in their forthcoming book, "How to Tell When Your Teen Is Lying."

Bishop's novels include "Hot Pursuit," "Deep Water," "Penalty Shot," "Suspicious Minds," the short story collection "Running Wylde," and five novels in his L.A.P.D. Detective Fey Croaker series: "Croaker: Kill Me Again," "Croaker: Grave Sins," "Croaker: Tequila Mockingbird," "Croaker: Chalk Whispers" and "Croaker: Pattern of Behavior."

Bishop has also written feature film scripts and numerous episodic scripts for television, including for such shows as "Diagnosis: Murder," "LA Dragnet," "The New Detectives" and "Navy Seals: The Untold Stories."

His new novel, "Felony Fists," comes out in August 2011.
