Paula Malcomson stars in "Ray Donovan" on Showtime as Abby Donovan. She also recently starred as Amanda Graystone on Syfy's "Caprica."

Born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Paula Malcomson moved to New York City's East Village at 19 and started acting shortly thereafter. Her most notable performance is that of Trixie in HBO's highly acclaimed "Deadwood," for which she and her castmates received a SAG Award nomination. Recurring stints on "Sons of Anarchy," "The Event," "ER," "Lost" and "John from Cincinnati" are just a few of her television credits. Recent guest appearances include "Prime Suspect," "Law & Order: Los Angeles," "Fringe," "Private Practice" and "Lie to Me."

On the big screen, Malcomson most recently played Katniss' (Jennifer Lawrence) mother in the smash blockbuster "The Hunger Games." Malcomson has also appeared in studio films like "The Green Mile," "Artificial Intelligence: AI," and "Tombstone," as well as a slew of independents. She produced and directed her first film, "In the A.M. of Dec. 26th." Any chance she gets, she works in the theater.

Malcomson lives in Los Angeles with her pack of animals that she loves with all her heart and travels to Ireland each summer to work on her Irish accent.
