Peter Gantzler stars in "The Last Kingdom" on BBC America as Earl Ragnar.

Danish actor Peter Gantzler attended the University of Copenhagen before training at the National Theatre School, graduating in 1990. He had minor roles in "Rocking Silver" (1983), "Mord i mørket" (1986), "The Birthday Trip" (1990) and "Smilla's Sense of Snow" (1997) before the breakthrough role in the Danish television series "Taxi" (1997-99) about two rival cab companies in Copenhagen. Other feature film credits include "When Mom Comes Home" (1998) and in "Pizza King" (1999). He starred again on television in the police drama "Hidden Track" (2000-01) and the drama series "Chronicle" (2004-07).

In addition, Gantzler caused a stir with such films as "Italian for Beginners" (2000), which earned him Best Supporting Actor at the Robert Festival, "One Hand Clapping" (2001), "My Sister's Kids" (2001) and "The Judge" (2005).
