Peter Vaughn stars in "Game of Thrones" on HBO as Maester Aemon, the elderly, blind master of the Night's Watch, the male guards who are trusted with protecting the civilized world of Westeros from the vicious wildlings that lurk beyond The Wall.

Peter Vaughn is an English character actor, who has worked extensively on the stage and in British film and television. He began his career in theater and didn't start appearing in films until 1959. His film credits include "An Ideal Husband," "Remains

Also a noted voice actor, Vaughn has performed on numerous BBC radio programs. He played Denethor in the 1981 BBC radio dramatization of "The Lord of the Rings," and his performance is considered by many Tolkein fans to be the definitive interpretation of the character.
