Phoebe Fox stars in Starz' miniseries "Close to the Enemy."

In 2011 British actress Phoebe Fox was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards and also featured on the Screen International Stars of Tomorrow list. She was recently seen starring opposite Mark Strong in the revival of "A View from the Bridge" at the Young Vic Theatre. The play received outstanding reviews, with Fox delivering a "brilliantly playful" performance as Eddie Carbone's niece Catherine (The Guardian).

On UK television, Fox was recently seen in the three-part BBC drama "Life in Squares," written by BAFTA Award-winning Amanda Coe. Fox plays Vanessa Bell, sister to Virginia Woolf, in this emotional drama which studies the lives of The Bloomsbury Set, a revolutionary group of twentieth century culture. She also appeared in BBC's "The Hollow Crown" Shakespeare series, opposite Judi Dench and Benedict Cumberbatch, and the BBC drama, "A Poet in New York," opposite Tom Hollander. Directed by BAFTA winner, Aisling Walsh, the latter series explored the last days of the great poet, Dylan Thomas. Fox was also seen in the BBC hit series "The Musketeers" as the Duchess of Savoy. Her other television credits include "New Tricks," "Switch," "Coming Up" and Channel 4's "Black Mirror."

On the big screen, Fox recently starred in the horror thriller "The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death" with Helen McCrory and Jeremy Irvine, and the thriller "Eye in the Sky," alongside Helen Mirren and Aaron Paul. The latter film is set in the world of remotely piloted drone warfare. Fox's other film credits include Tom Harper's feature "War Book" and "One Day."

Fox is well known for her work on stage. In 2012 she played a "refreshingly ballsy" Cordelia in King Lear" at The Almeida (The Guardian). She also played Anne in The National's "There Is a War," which was one of three productions, alongside "As You Like It" at The Rose Theatre and "The Acid Test" at The Royal Court Theatre, for which Fox was shortlisted for the Milton Shulman Award for Outstanding Newcomer at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards in 2011.
