Piers Morgan is best known to Americans as the mean judge on "America's Got Talent," but before he was named to the panel for one of NBC's highest ranked shows, Morgan appeared in the UK alongside Simon Cowell as a judge on "Britain's Got Talent" for ITV.

Before appearing on "Britain's Got Talent," Morgan presented shows for BBC1 including "You Can't Fire Me, I'm Famous" and two series of "Tabloid Tales." Additionally, Piers Morgan hosted a three-part series "The Importance of Being Famous" and the one-hour documentary "The Death of Celebrity." Piers Morgan co-hosted the current affairs show "Morgan & Platell" and, his book, "The Insider, Private Diaries of a Scandalous Decade", became an instant No. 1 bestseller. His sequel, "Don't You Know Who I Am? Insider Diaries of Fame, Power and Naked Ambition" is out now. 

Piers Morgan also served as a contestant in a celebrity version of the U.K.'s "The Apprentice" which raised money for Comic Relief. Piers Morgan's latest project will be co-judging "Britain's Got Talent" with Simon Cowell, which premieres on ITV in June 2007. Piers Morgan also created "The Pride of Britain Awards," in which high-profile celebrities and royals honor ordinary citizens for doing extraordinary and/or heroic things.

America's Got Talent should have 2nd and 3rd place winners, offering somewhere of $100,000 for 2nd place and $50,000 for 3rd place. It would make the show more interesting.
