With the work on "Earth 2" under his belt, Rockmond arrived on the Hollywood scene, and it was only one short month before he began landing roles on several television series. To his credit, he now has had many guest starring and recurring roles on such shows as "Felicity," "The Pretender," "Good News," "Two Guys and a Girl," "G. vs. E," "North Shore," "Girlfriends," "Shark," "CSI: Miami," "Grey’s Anatomy," "Private Practice" and "The Defenders," just to name a few. He also starred in the TNT series "Heartland."
This talented, theatrically trained actor experienced yet another career boost when he secured four leading roles in various independent films. One of the projects was "Punks," which debuted at the 2000 Sundance film festival and was released in 2001, executive produced by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and produced by Tracey Edmonds. Rockmond Dunbar also performed lead roles in the films, "Misery Loves Company," "Sick Puppies," "Whodunit," "All About You," and "Love The Way," which premiered in at the Acapulco Film Festival in June 2001. Dunbar was also seen in the Warner Brothers feature film, "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" with Robert Downey, Jr. and the Tyler Perry film "The Family That Preys" alongside award-winning actors Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard.
Rockmond also boasts writing, producing and directing titles to his credit. He recently directed his first full-length feature film, "Pastor Brown," and is currently completing writing the TV series based on the film. In 2007, he starred in and produced the independent feature film, "Dirty Laundry," with Loretta Devine. In 2004, he directed and produced a short film for Showtime entitled "The Great Commission." Rockmond is gaining favorable notices as a quality actor from producers, directors and audiences across the country. To capitalize upon his success and growing recognition as a filmmaker Rockmond formed Flypaper Entertainment with his producing partner, Carol Shine, to create film and television projects. Flypaper is currently developing the series "Safe House" with ISH Entertainment as well several other narrative and reality series.
