Rus Blackwell started his acting career in New York working in the theater and training at Circle in the Square Theatre School. A strong work ethic and endless passion have made Blackwell a solid actor with a terrific range. He has built an extensive film and television career, having shared the screen with such acclaimed actors as Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Charlize Theron, Anthony Hopkins, Arron Eckhart, Halle Berry and many others. Blackwell has also been a part of several Oscar and Emmy Award-winning projects which including "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Monster," and HBO's movie "Recount" and miniseries "From the Earth to the Moon." His other feature film credits include "Dolphin Tale," starring Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd, and "Battle Los Angeles," opposite Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez.
On television, Blackwell has made appearances in episodes of "Magic City," "The Finder," "The Gates," "Burn Notice," "Drop Dead Diva," "One Tree Hill" and "Law & Order," among others.
Blackwell attributes his connection to the roving, gypsy actor in his blood to a gene from his father, a traveling musician with a formidable case of wanderlust.
