Ryan Gage stars in "The Musketeers" on BBC America as King Louis XIII.

On the big screen, Ryan Gage stars as Alfrid in "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," reprising his role from "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug." Other film credits include the "A Hundred Days," "Scottish Mussel" and "Outlaw."

On UK television, Gage has been seen in "Holly Oak," "Doctors," David Tennant's "Hamlet," for the BBC, "Hustle," "The Bill" and "Murder on the Home Front."

Gage was brought up in London and trained at the Drama Centre London. After his graduation he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and was nominated for the Ian Charleston Award for his work at that time. He appeared of productions of Ionesco's "Macbett," "The Indian Boy," "Macbeth" and in the RSC's West End productions of "Hamlet," "God in Ruins" and "Midsummer Night's Dream." His other West End theatrical credits include "Ghost Stories," "Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead" and "American Justice."

Gage's off West End work includes "Artist Descending a Staircase," "Quadrophenia," "Promises and Lies," "Wolves and Sheep" and "The Laws of War." He received an off-West End Award nomination for Best Actor for his role in Trevor Griffiths' "Wages of Thin."

Gage is a video game voice over artist and is a member of Andy Serkis' Imaginarium performance capture company.
