Sam Cook from "Mounted in Alaska" stars in the History Channel reality docu-series. He works for Russell Knight at Knight's Taxidermy in Anchorage, Alaska.

At 51, Sam Cook ("Mounted in Alaska") has had the taxidermy trade in his blood for a long time. His grandfather and his father were both taxidermists, and now Sam and his brother are carrying on the family tradition. Like Russ, Sam grew up in Mississippi, and was 10 years old when he mounted his first piece. Sam's family maintained a veritable Zoo in their backyard—from rescued circus Tigers to pet monkeys—his passion for animals has been life-long. Sam and his family are hurricane Katrina survivors—they watched their house blow away around them.

Sam is the newest member of Russ's crew, but also the most experienced. An accomplished competition taxidermist, Sam's proudest moment was receiving the Award of Excellence at the National Taxidermist Association's nation-wide competition. Sam is brand new to Alaska and has taken up gold mining in his spare time.
