Caan made his directorial debut with the film "Dallas 362," in which he also starred. After premiering at the Toronto Film Festival, it received the Critics' Choice Award at CineVegas International Film Festival, and enjoyed a critically acclaimed limited release in 2005. He went on to write, direct and star in the film, "The Dog Problem," which also received rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival. Most recently, Caan was in "Mercy," which he also penned and co-produced.
In 2001, Caan wrote, starred and co-directed the play, "Almost Love," at LA's Playhouse West. He has also written three feature scripts, the first of which, "Chasing the Party," is set up at Jerry Bruckheimer Productions with Caan attached to star. He is also in the process of setting up two additional screenplays: the boxing drama, "The Fight," and the ensemble drama, "Lowest Common Denominator."
Currently, Caan resides in Los Angeles. He is the son of actor James Caan.
