Scott Cohen stars in "Necessary Roughness" on USA Network.

Scott Cohen is increasingly recognizable from his many character portrayals in television, theater and film. A very versatile actor, he has garnered rave reviews for his performances. He played Max Medina, Lauren Graham's irresistible love interest on "Gilmore Girls," and starred in the hit film "Kissing Jessica Stein," directed by Charles Wurmfeld. Cohen also played businessman Marcus Sonti in the sitcom, "The Return of Jezebel James."

was recently in "Love and Other Drugs," starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway; "Moonlight Serenade" with Amy Adams; "Everybody's Fine" with Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell; Dan Roos's "The Other Woman" with Natalie Portman, Lisa Kudrow and Lauren Ambrose; "Ironcross" with Roy Scheider; and "Fortune" for first-time director Peter Scarf. Other film credits include the independent romantic film "Chloe," directed by Giancarlo Tallarico, the independent thriller "Confess," directed by Stefan Schaefer, and the independent drama "The Circle," directed by Yuri Zeltser. He was also seen in the indie film "Brother's Shadow," opposite Judd Hirsch, for director Todd Yellin, which played at Tribeca and other U.S. film festivals. Additional feature appearances include "Jacob's Ladder," "A Brother's Kiss," "The Mambo Kings," "Private Parts" and "Knots."

Cohen's television credits include starring roles on Dick Wolf's "Law & Order: Trial By Jury" and "Street Time," opposite Rob Morrow, and a recurring role on "NYPD Blue." His other television credits include "Blue Bloods," "Hawaii Five-0," "Glades," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Grey's Anatomy," "Castle," "CSI: NY," "Cashmere Mafia," the miniseries "10th Kingdom,"Perfect Murder, Perfect Town," "The Practice," "Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America," "Gia," "Gotti" and "Kiss My Act."



On stage, Cohen was seen starring on Broadway in the comedy "Losing Louie," directed by Jerry Zaks for the Manhattan Theater Club. He joined John Spencer in "Glimmer, Glimmer" and "Shine," Warren Leight's follow-up to "Side Man," directed by Evan Yionoulis at Manhattan Theatre Club. Other theater work includes the play "A Nervous Smile," directed by Maria Mileaf, opposite Amy Brenneman; the David Ives play "The Other Woman," directed by Walter Bobbie, opposite Ruthie Henshall; appearances at Williamstown Theater Festival in "The Big Knife" and "La Ronde," both directed by Joanne Woodward; "The American Clock" and "Henry IV," both directed by Austin Pendleton; "Mother's Courage," directed by Gerard Freedman, and "Passion," directed by Arvin Brown. Cohen was also seen in "In Audela," a play written by his wife, Anastasia Traina.

Cohen resides in New York City with his wife and son.
