"Shameless" Season 5 has been ordered and will return on Showtime in 2015.

"Shameless" (Showtime TV show) is a drama series from John Wells "(ER," "The West Wing," "Southland)" and Paul Abbott ("State of Play," "Touching Evil") that is based on the long-running hit UK series and stars Emmy Award winner and Oscar nominee William H. Macy ("Fargo," "Pleasantville," "The Cooler)" and Emmy Rossum ("The Phantom of the Opera," "Mystic River").

Meet Frank Gallagher (Macy). Proud, working-class patriarch

to a motley brood of six smart, spirited and independent kids who, without him, would be…better off. In Frank's booze-addled view, parenting just eats into his hard-earned bar crawling and carousing time around Chicago, so it's better left to eldest daughter Fiona (Emmy Rossum) to hold down the fort. Bearing the de facto parent badge/burden, she's donned the proverbial apron and makes sure her younger siblings do their chores, keep a clean(ish) home and feed the kitty — the Gallagher family fund jar — because the gas bill is due and everyone (no matter how small) works to keep the lights on and food on the table. Brothers Lip (Jeremy Allen White), Ian (Cameron Monaghan) and Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) use their intellect to break every rule in the book to survive and make the bank, while younger sister Debbie (Emma Kenney) would sooner steal her share. Toddler Liam the youngest is just happy to be along for the ride. The Gallaghers are irreverent, endearing, resilient and they're absolutely, wildly and unapologetically "Shameless."

Season 3

It's several months after the last season ended and the Gallaghers are each seeking their own unique version of the "American Dream." Jimmy (Justin Chatwin) has moved into the Gallagher home, and Fiona (Emmy Rossum) soon realizes that a GED will only get her so far and that a long-term relationship with Jimmy isn't as fulfilling as she expected. Meanwhile, Frank (William H. Macy) reappears south of the border with no idea as to how he got there.

Season 4

The fourth season picks up a few weeks after season three left off — with the Gallaghers braving another brutal Chicago winter and waiting on the medical fate of their flawed, permanently pickled patriarch, Frank. With Fiona in a stable job and relationship, and Lip enrolled in college, can the Gallaghers finally realize the middle class American dream?

"Shameless" Season 4 is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Wells and Abbott are executive producers; Andrew Stearn ("The West Wing," "Southland") is co-executive producer.
