Sharon Horgan is an Irish writer, actress, and comedian.

Sharon's career in comedy began when she won the BBC New Comedy award for sketch writing in 2001 with her writing partner Dennis Kelly. Since then, she has written and appeared in such British TV shows as "The Pilot Show" and the first series of "The Friday Night Project." Her other acting credits include "Extras," "Absolute Power," "Broken News" and Rob Brydon's "Annually Retentive." She recently appeared in the IFC series "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret," written by and starring David Cross. She was also seen in the feature film "Imagine Me and You" and provided a voice for the animated film "Valiant."

In addition to her acting career, Horgan has written for numerous comedy shows, including the acclaimed animated sketch show "Monkey Dust." Her own BBC comedy show, "Pulling," which she co-wrote with Dennis Kelly, ran for two seasons.

Sharon has won the British Comedy Award for Best Comedy Actress in 2008, was nominated in 2009, won the Southbank Show Comedy Award in 2009 for "Pulling." She also won the British Comedy Award in 2009 for the "Pulling" special.

Horgan created, wrote, and co-starred with Frances Conroy and Jenna Elfman in ABC's 2011 comedy pilot for "Bad Mom."
