Sharon Small stars in "Mistresses" on BBC America as Trudi Malloy.

A well known face on British television, Sharon Small stars with Nathaniel Parker in the BBC One drama "The Inspector Linley Mysteries," as the statutory, rebellious sidekick to the aristocratic Lynley, Detective Sergeant Barbara Havers. Her other best-known roles include the popular dramas "Cutting It," "Sunburn," which followed the lives and loves of holiday reps, "Nina and the Neurons" and the romantic drama "Glasgow Kiss," as Cara Rossi, the hotshot businesswoman assigned to reinvent a failing newspaper.

Small was also seen in "Kidnap and Ransom," the miniseries "Murderland" and Peter Bowker's updating of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," called "ShakespeaRe-Told." She has guested in several other hit dramas such as "Cutting It," "The Bill," "Hamish Macbeth," "Doctor Finlay," and "Taggart."

Small made a big impression in her feature film debut as Hugh Grant’s sister Christine in the international hit "About a Boy." She followed it up with "Dear Frankie," starring Emily Mortimer and Gerard Butler. The film is about a young single mum trying to protect her deaf son from the truth about his errant father.

The Glasgow-born actress has a string of theater successes behind her, including the West End production of "When Harry Met Sally," alongside Alyson Hannigan.

A woman of many talents, she is also a highly skilled soprano, recorder player, and swimmer.
