Sonjia Williams from "Project Runway" is one of the contestants in Season 10 of the Lifetime reality fashion design competition series. He is a 27-year-old designer who grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, and is currently living in Woodside, New York.
Sonjia Williams ("Project Runway") realized she had potential as a designer when her mother taught her how to sew when she was 12 years old. The first garment that she ever made was a denim pencil skirt with a drawstring. She received her training at Lasell College in Newton, Massachusetts. She won a first place award for a design competition in Boston.
Sonjia considers her design strength to be her attention to detail, whereas she thinks her weakness is her lack of time management. She says she has always been influenced by everyday life, whether it's colors, textures, shapes or patterns. She loves working with wovens and leather and is probably most proud of the jacket that she made for her "Project Runway" audition.
Sonjia considers a statement shoe to be a fashion must, while she thinks wearing leggings as pants is a fashion faux pas that drives her crazy! Her favorite designers are Christian Dior, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Valentino and Karl Lagerfeld, while her favorite style icon is Sarah Jessica Parker and her super model muse is Agyness Deyn.
