Stacey Amagrande from "MasterChef" is one of the top 18 contestants in Season 3 of the FOX reality cooking competition series. She is a 29-year-old farmer's market manager from Apple Valley, California.
Here is an interview with Stacey Amagrande ("MasterChef"):
Who was your first cooking inspiration?
Both of my parents cooked, but no one could cook like Grandma. My first generation Italian grandmother, Carmella Amagrande, was my first cooking inspiration. The house always smelled of garlic and basil and everything was always delicious.
What is the first dish you ever mastered?
The omelette. We ate a lot of omelettes back in the day. It seems to please time after time, so I got on board and learned the craft of the omlette!
What is your favorite thing to cook?
My favorite things to cook are soups, stews, and curries. Many ingredients with long, slow cooking. I have recently fallen in love with my pressure cooker, and I make pork belly all of the time.
What did you learn as a contestant on "MasterChef"?
I learned confidence like I have never known it before. I also learned that if you allow your heart and passion guide you, you are seldom left in need of much else. Know how, technique and execution are all of equal importance when it comes to cooking amazing food, but those skills will only develop in a genuine place if there is passion and love behind it all.
