Tali Clavijo from "MasterChef" is one of the top 18 contestants in Season 3 of the FOX reality cooking competition series. He is a 29-year-old musician from Chicago, Illinois.

Who was your first cooking inspiration?
My Grandma. Even though I never met my Grandma, she was Head Chef for very important presidents and diplomats all over South America. My mom is another great cook, but not as good as her mother. I aspire to create dishes that amaze and awe!
What is the first dish you ever mastered?
Empanadas. I'm now working on a modern version of the empanada. An empanada foam.
What is your favorite thing to cook?
I love to transform and reinvent simple foods into modern masterpieces. I love to make foams, sous vide, and explosive spheres.
What did you learn as a contestant on "MasterChef"?
I learned that you can make amazing masterpieces using simple ingredients. I also learned to become a much better cook. Seriously, my cooking is so much better now than ever before. You should try some of my celery foam.
