Tara Fitzgerald stars in "Game of Thrones" in the recurring role of Stannis Baratheon's wife, Selyse Baratheon, who spends much of her life in seclusion, shut away in a gloomy tower.

British actress Tara Fitzgerald studied at the Drama Centre at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. She has appeared in many films such as "Hear My Song," "Sirens," "I Capture the Castle," "Rancid Aluminium," as well as "Five Children and It," "Love Again," "The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill but Came Down a Mountain" and "Brassed Off."

On UK television, Fitzgerald is perhaps best known for starring as Dr. Eve Lockhart on "Waking the Dead" from 2007–2011. She more recently starred in "The Body Farm" and previously was seen in a long list of very successful television dramas including "The Camomile Lawn," "Anglo-Saxon Attitudes," "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall," "The Woman in White," "The Student Prince" and "The Virgin Queen."

She has also appeared on stage in the critically acclaimed "Our Song," "Antigone," "The Misanthrope," "Hamlet" as Ophelia, and "A Streetcar Named Desire" as Blanche Dubois.
