NBC's "The Event" TV show is an emotional high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, "The Class"), an Everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée, Leila (Sarah Roemer, "Disturbia"), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history.

Sean's quest will send ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including: newly elected U.S. President Martinez (Blair Underwood, "Dirty Sexy Money"); Sophia (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes, "ER"), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Sean's shadowy father-in-law (Scott Patterson, "Gilmore Girls"). Their futures are on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind.

"The Event" cast also includes Ian Anthony Dale ("Daybreak"), Clifton Collins, Jr., Taylor Cole ("The Violent Kind"), Lisa Vidal ("The Division"), Bill Smitrovich ("The Practice") and Emmy winner Željko Ivanek ("Damages").

"The Event" is a production of Universal Media Studios and Steve Stark Productions. Stark ("Medium," "Facing Kate") serves as executive producer, Nick Wauters ("The 4400," "Eureka") is creator/co-executive producer and Jeffrey Reiner ("Friday Night Lights," "Trauma") is the director/executive producer.

#TheEvent, an entertaining but very flawed show. Had a good cliffhanger though that made me wish it wasn't cancelled.

Why is The Event stealing Eminem backwards E.

I remember this show! It's called "The X Files".

Plot was good, suspense was working...couldn't wait for the next scene. Pres and all his men working well. Then it happens, enter the wife, making it look like every other network series failure. The right casting could have made this a hit.
alrightythen says:
The event was interesting but too, too many damn commercials. Obviously, with this being "The Event" (no pun intended) the network knew a lot of people would be watching and decided to inundated with commercials. That for me killed it. I tuned in to watch the event and not a bunch of candy-ass, lame-ass commercials. Obviously, this will end up just like Heroes which had a great start but ended badly. Get rid of the commercials and you will have a great following of loyal viewers.
tacky66 says:
Jason Ritter was terrific. But the lady actor from ER always looks untidy and in pain, get rid of her. Most characters ere, new, fresh, and interesting, Blair Underwood doesn't fit well and is simply not believable. Ritter is the whole show, hope he can pull it off. He is so believable.

Got The Event spoilers? What did you think of the last show?
