"The Fosters" (TV show) is a drama series on Freeform about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms.

Stef Foster, a dedicated police officer, and her partner Lena Adams, a school Vice Principal, have built a close-knit, loving family with Stef's biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon, and their adopted twins Mariana and Jesus. Their lives are disrupted in unexpected ways when Lena meets Callie, a hardened teen with an abusive past who has spent her life in and out of foster homes. Lena and Stef warily welcome Callie, along with her younger brother Jude, into their home thinking it's just for a few weeks, until a more permanent placement can be found.

Season 2

Winner of 2014's Television Academy Honors Award and GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Drama Series, the series picks up from the summer cliffhanger. This season Stef and Lena find themselves on the defense when Robert Quinn expresses a sincere interest in having Callie be part of his family. A startling development leaves Callie in a tailspin, resulting in questionable decisions about her future, while Jude tries to manage his friendship with Connor amid their parents' conflict. Jesus and Mariana are thrown for a loop when a newly sober Ana reveals big news, and Brandon reevaluates his musical aspirations when an unexpected offer comes his way. The season will also see the return of Rosie O'Donnell ("The View") in a recurring role as Rita Henricks, a tough yet compassionate woman who works in the foster care system.

The cast includes Teri Polo ("Meet the Parents") as Stef Foster, Sherri Saum ("In Treatment") as Lena Adams, Jake T. Austin ("Wizards of Waverly Place") as Jesus Foster, Hayden Byerly ("Parenthood") as Jude, David Lambert ("Aaron Stone") as Brandon Foster, Maia Mitchell ("Teen Beach Movie") as Callie, Danny Nucci ("Titanic") as Mike Foster and Cierra Ramirez ("The Secret Life of the American Teenager") as Mariana Foster.

Freeform's "The Fosters" is produced by Nuyorican Productions, Inc., and Prodco, Inc. The series is from executive producer Jennifer Lopez, ("American Idol," "What to Expect When You're Expecting," "The Back-Up Plan") and created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige ("Queer As Folk"), who will also serve as writers and executive producers. Joanna Johnson ("Make it or Break it"), Elaine Goldsmith Thomas, Benny Medina and Greg Gugliotta will also serve as executive producers.
