Tim Russ stars as Frank on ABC's "Samantha Who?"
Tim Russ has been working in the entertainment industry for the past 30 years. Tim Russ's talents encompass a wide spectrum of the performing arts, including composing, music (guitar & vocals), writing, directing, voice-over and producing. Tim Russ received his B.S. in Theater at St. Edward's University Austin, TX, and completed one year of post graduate work in theater at Illinois State University.
As an actor, Tim Russ has worked in a cross section of films and television. Tim Russ's film credits Include "Live Free or Die Hard," "The Oh in Ohio," "Star Trek: Generations" and "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari." On television Tim Russ had series regular roles on "The Highwayman," "The People Next Door" and "Star Trek: Voyager." Tim Russ has also appeared in numerous stage plays, including the Los Angeles premiere of "Dreamgirls."
Tim Russ has performed as a musician for over 27 years, playing bass, acoustic and lead guitars, as well as solo vocals. Tim Russ's musical talents are showcased on a self-titled, Crescendo Records pop music CD, a follow up release entitled "Kushangaza," and a recent release entitled "Brave New World."
As a writer/producer, Tim Russ shared the helm in the production of the feature "East of Hope Street," which won Best Feature Film and Best Actress on the festival circuit and was released theatrically in the U.S. Tim Russ was the recipient of the Sony Innovator's Award for a commercial he produced, "The Zone." Tim Russ entered the TV/Film directing arena with credits including "Star Trek: Voyager," "The FBI Files," "Psychic Witness," "Roddenberry on Patrol" and the feature film "Of Gods and Men."
Tim Russ has also expanded his performing talents to include voice-over. Tim Russ's recent v.o. credits include "Hotwire.com," six audio books and the video game "LA Law." Most recently Tim Russ co-produced a musical children's audio book project with Jedda Roskilly entitled "Bugsters," which won the National Parenting Award and will be featured on the playlist for the Fisher Price Mp3. "Bugsters" will also be published in 2007 as a hard cover book by Woods N' Water Press.
