Tom Everett Scott stars in "Southland" on TNT as Detective Russell Clarke. Scott also stars in the movie "Mars Needs Moms," alongside Seth Green, Joan Cusack and Dan Fogler, as Dad.

Tom Everett Scott's numerous television credits include roles on such series as "Sons of Anarchy," NBC's "Law & Order," "Cashmere Mafia," "Philly," "The Street" and "Grace Under Fire." Everett Scott was also featured in the television movie "Surrender, Dorothy," opposite Diane Keaton and Chris Pine.

On the big screen, Everett Scott's breakout role came in 1996 when he got the lead as drummer Guy Patterson in Tom Hanks' "That Thing You Do!" From there, he went on to appear in various films, including "Dead Man on Campus," "Boiler Room," and Universal's "Because I Said So," opposite Mandy Moore. He also appeared in Walt Disney's "Race to Witch Mountain" opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

In addition to television and film, Everett Scott also starred on Broadway in "The Little Dog Laughed," and in the off-Broadway play "Touch" in 2003. He also appeared at the L.A. Ahmanson Theatre stage production of "Dead End," in 2005.



Everett Scott was raised in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, where he was the third of four children, to a father who was a civil engineer and a mother who worked in insurance. Following his graduation from Syracuse University in 1988—where he was a drama major—Everett Scott moved to New York to pursue acting and founded a theater company with three of his friends called "aTheaterco."

Currently, Everett Scott lives with his wife and two children.
