Tommy Dewey stars as James on ABC Family's "Roommates." James is a self-proclaimed ladies man who welcomes Mark with open arms, despite the new roommate's quirkiness. In fact, he takes great pleasure in watching Mark's feeble attempts to win Katie's favor.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Dewey left home to attend Princeton University, where he graduated in 2001 with degrees in Public Policy and Theatre. Upon graduation, he moved to New York City, where he quickly landed the role of 'Mike' on the daytime drama "Guiding Light." He spent the summer of 2002 training at London's acclaimed Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Dewey has been featured in several New York productions, including a two man show he co-wrote and starred in called "Natalie!" The show premiered in 2003 at the New York International Fringe Festival and later ran in Los Angeles at the National Comedy Theatre and at The Tamarind.
Upon arrival into Los Angeles, Dewey landed a role on The WB comedy "What I Like About You," as the love interest to Amanda Bynes' character. Shortly thereafter, he landed the coveted role of Michael Dowling on The WB's "The Mountain." He has also been seen in the CBS hit "Cold Case" and on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and can soon be seen starring opposite Matthew Perry in the soon to be released feature film "Seventeen Again."
When time permits, Dewey, a resident of Los Angeles, continues to develop his writing projects for film, TV and theatre. But when the winter season comes around, he transforms into an avid helicopter skier.
