Tony Briggs stars in SundanceTV's drama series "Cleverman" as Boondee.

Tony Briggs is a Yorta Yorta man from Shepparton, Victoria, Australia. His television credits include a leading role in the acclaimed series "The Slap," playing the role of Bilal, "Ready for This," "Wentworth," "The Broken Shore," "Redfern Now," "Howzat! Kerry Packer's War," where he played the role of cricket legend Clive Lloyd, "The Circuit," "Stingers," "All Aussie Adventures," "Wicked Science," "Eugenie Sandler P.I.," "The Genie from Down Under 2," "Ocean Girl," "Pacific Drive," "Snowy River: The McGregor Saga," "Blue Heelers," "Ratbag Hero," "Comedy Company" and "Neighbours."

Film credits include "The Oysterman," "Healing," "The Sapphires," "Bran Nue Dae," "The Drovers Boy," "The Djarn Djarns," "Australian Rules," "On the Nose," "Gargantua," "The Order," "Joey" and "The Life of Harry Dare."

His theater credits include "The Memory of Water" and "The Female of the Species" at State Theatre Company of South Australia; "Jandamarra" and "The Female of the Species" at Black Swan Theatre; "Yanagai Yanagai," "Fever," "Who's Afraid of the Working Class?" and "Up the Ladder" at Melbourne Workers Theatre; "Stolen" at Playbox; and "Coranderrk: We Will Show the Country" at Ilbijerri. His music theater credits include "Nathaniel Storm" for the NIDA Company, "Walkabout" for Chamber Made, and "Corrugation Road" for Black Swan. Briggs has also been a member of the NYID Physical Theatre Company of actors for which he has performed in various national and international productions.

Briggs' writing credits include the feature film "The Sapphires." Released in August 2012, the film had its world premiere at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival and was one of Australia's most popular and successful films of the year. He and his co-writer, Keith Thompson, were awarded the Major AWGIE Award for the most outstanding script of 2012 and also the AWGIE for Feature Film – Adaption. The film went on to win 11 AACTA Awards in 2013, including Best Film. Briggs and Thompson won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Briggs also received the 2013 Greg Tepper Award for outstanding achievement.
