Valerie Harper stars in ABC Family's original TV movie "My Future Boyfriend."

Valerie Harper was raised in Suffern, New York, and began her career as a ballet dancer at Radio City Music Hall. She eventually moved into theater and appeared in Broadway productions of "Dear Liar," the Tony Award-winning "Story Theatre," "Something Different" and "Metamorphosis."

Her big break came on the "Mary Tyler Moore," for which she won four Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe. She then went on to play the title role in "Rhoda." She also appeared in "Valerie's Family." Her more recent TV credits include "Desperate Housewives," "That '70s Show," "Sex and the City" and "Touched by an Angel." Her film credits include "The Last Married Couple in America," "Chapter Two" and "Freebie and the Bean."

Harper has served on the Hollywood Board of Directors of SAG and recently portrayed Tallulah Bankhead in "Looped" at the Pasadena Playhouse in 2008.
