Russian actor Vladimir Mashkov is an actor, director and producer who graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School (class OP Tabakov) in 1990. He is an Honored Artist of Russia. He won the Silver George for Best Actor at the ICF in 2001 for "The Quickie," several Best Actor awards for "The Thief," including Golden Aries and Nika, and several Best Actor awards for "Limita," including Golden Aries, Nika, and the Kinotavr Film Festival. For the latter film he also won the Blue Sail prize at the Russian Film Festival in San Rafael and the Silver Star at the Young Stars of Europe in Geneva.
Among Mashkov's other performances in Russian films are "Bumbarash," "Death Room," "Threepenny Opera" and "Number 13." He directed "Orphan Kazan" (1997) and "Papa" (2004).
American audiences best know Mashkov from his role in "Behind Enemy Lines" (2001), opposite Gene Hackman and Owen Wilson.
