screen, De Jesús proves to always show tremendous range as an actress, and to never shy from a challenging role. Her most recent films include "Illegal Tender," produced by John Singleton ("Shaft," "Poetic Justice") and written and directed by Franc Reyes ("Empire"). Playing courageous mother Millie De Leon, De Jesús received critical acclaim for her powerful performance, which shot in both her hometown New York and in Puerto Rico. She then re-teamed with writer-director Reyes to co-star opposite Harvey Keitel and John Leguizamo in the New York based drama "The Ministers."

Additionally, De Jesús commanded attention with her role in Clint Eastwood's "Blood Work" as Graciela Rivers, a woman who hires an ex-FBI profiler (Eastwood) to solve a crime. During the same year, De Jesús starred in the Peabody Award-winning PBS Masterpiece Theatre production of "Almost a Woman," based on the memoirs of author Esmeralda Santiago. Her performance earned her an Imagen Award. After starring in many television projects and co-starring in numerous films, Entertainment Weekly said of De Jesús, "With her sultry turn opposite Clint Eastwood in 'Blood Work' and her moving performance in this Masterpiece Theatre's American Collection adaptation of Esmeralda Santiago's memoir; she's finally made a name for herself."

De Jesús has graced the silver screen in such diverse fare as John Carpenter's "Ghosts of Mars"; Lawrence Fishburne's "Once in the Life"; Joel Schumacher's "Flawless," co-starring opposite Robert DeNiro as his sultry dancer girlfriend; Michael Mann's "The Insider" opposite Al Pacino and Charles Burnett's "Glass Shield," among others.

De Jesús' small-screen accomplishments include a lead recurring role as Detective Adell Sevilla in "CSI: Miami" and in Elmore Leonard's "Gold Coast," directed by Peter Weller. She also garnered attention portraying the savvy investigative field reporter Liz Vega on "Live Shot." Other serials include "Mariah" as well as sexy Santana Andrade on the daytime drama "Santa Barbara." Guest lead television credits include "NYPD Blue," "Promised Land," "Brooklyn South," "Touched by an Angel," "Nash Bridges" and "Profiler."

A native New Yorker and trained actor, she garnered a variety of Broadway, off-Broadway and regional stage productions, including "The Guys" at Berkeley Repertory Theatre with Jimmy Smits, "Cuba and his Teddy Bear" at the Longacre Theatre with Robert DeNiro, the Los Angles premiere of Ariel Dorfman's "Death and the Maiden" at the Mark Taper Forum again with Smits, "Summer & Smoke" with Christopher Reeve and Christine Lahti at the Ahmanson, "Floating Islands," directed by Oscar Eustis at the Taper and "Women Without Men" and "Ariano," directed by George C. Wolfe.
