"X-Men: First Class" is a 2011 summer action movie that is a reboot of the "X-Men" franchise, following the various X-Men at an earlier stage in their lives, when they were first discovering their powers.

"X-Men: First Class" charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took on the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead the closest of friends, working together with other mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

The film "X-Men: First Class" is directed by Matthew Vaughn from a screenplay by Jane Goldman, Ashley Miller, Jamie Moss and Zack Stentz. The film stars an exciting young cast, including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. It is produced by Gregory Goodman, Simon Kinberg, Bryan Singer, and Lauren Shuler Donner, with executive producers Josh McLaglen and Tarquin Pack. The original music is by Henry Jackman.
